Daily Grind

Today I moved a few more CCB directories under 'wkshp' and I also created a forwarder on my 404 page for the folder 'stewart' to test how well a 301 redirect would work. It seems to work quite well, I'm awaiting approval and then I'll bring it up in the next meeting. I'm not sure if the 301 code will go through since it's being sent by a 404 page, but if I make the page live I'll test the headers. I will use this meathod for people like Mickey who need this if I move their folder, since he probably has many contacts. I'm not sure if it's necessary to use this type of forwarder for everyone though. That'll have to be tackled later.

I ran across this blog yesterday which lists some really cool javascript effects that can be added to one's website. These are really neat, but I don't know if I'm going to be using any of them soon. The photo one can also be accomplished through a little css trick provided by alistapart. I also like the webpage pop-up idea, but I tested it out and didn't like the results. Which could have been a result of the Drupal module as well.

I started writing a manual today, but it's hard to get a grasp on where to start since there's a lot I could write about, but at the same time it'll most likely change in the months to come when we finially get a CMS. Just like everything else it's something I'm going to get started on and then drop for an alternative later.
