Drupal Adventures Continue
Today I started further down the Drupal Rabbit hole. I brushed up the SERE drupal site by placing all scripts and css images in the theme folder. I've done a mass upload for any images that I think should go on the site and that way it's categorized and ready to go in image assist. So far I placed people and logos up, but I'm sure I'll have to further categorize and upload images as I get going.
I also installed multiple sites on this drupal install, which was much easeir than I thought it would be. Basically you create a new settings.php file under a folder that stands for the name of your site, in this case isse.protitude.com and create a separate database for the site. Once the subdomain is created on the server you delete the folder and replace it with a sym link pointing to the drupal install, in this case sere.protitude.com and you have two installs off of the same codebase. I may need to share some of the db's eventually too.
I created a new section called news, and in this section I will place further upcoming news. I watched this video to figure out how to create the content type the way I want and how to create a view that I want. Particularly I want all of the recent news items to show up on the homepage.
- I started to go through the asp site and sent a bunch of links to Scott hopefully he'll get back to me next week.
- I received edits for Susanne Moser's site, I'll save that for next week.
- The ISSE blog is now live and ready for anyone to write in, hopefully that will go well.
- I'm also waiting for Carlye Calvin to send me the photos for the newest news item for sere, provided by Linda Mearns through the blog.
