Structuring the Future

Yesterday I started to delve into the ISSE directory and just noticed a large amount of forwards for the ccb site which are just duplicates. When Inquiring about this I was told this is Seth's solution. So I sent Seth an email and went back and forth a few times trying to figure out why he's doing it that way. His point of view is that even though his way is messy, it's more user centric and less of a pain. My opinion on the matter is that his way is keeping the directories a mess and others from updating their links. I think both of our ways accomplish the same mission it's just that his are easier for the user and messier for the admin. And from my point of view less forward progressive as well. I sent an email to all involved in the sites and so far Steve is the only one to respond, and he agrees with my logic on the situation. I'm going to attach the current views of all three directories and hopefully this will improve in the time to come...

I put a link to how I'd like to structure these directories in a previous post. Really I still have to continue to define that but I'd like to consolidate the ISSE directory by replacing the CCB forwards with one 404 page that links to the correct page, ore maybe forwards if that's the decision. I'd like to further refine all of these sites to having one staff folder and not random staff folders all over the root directory. I'd like to make the workshops all have a workshops folder and same with events. Other randoms that have to linger out on their own are the ASR and LAR folders. Possibly the same with a few others in the ASP directory.
Another thing on the table is the CMS review starts next thursday. I still feel like in the opensource world Drupal is far ahead, but that still leaves Expression Engine, which I've never really used. I plan on taking a look at it myself here pretty soon, but since I rarely hear about this one and it costs money to use I don't think it's a great alternative either. I'll hold my final comment on that after I hear a review on it and get to play with it myself.
A complete list of evaluation categories has been made up here, which is pretty extensive.
The new ASP files have been rolled out with shiny new php files. I went through an extensive list of errors that have been recorded on the site and I've cleared up many errors that have been there for a long time and some that I have created. Hopefully in the coming months all of these broken links can be addressed so we can continue to move forward with these sites.
